Donna Harris, CFRE,

Director of Museum Administration

Donna began in this role in May 2020 and is the museum’s first paid full-time staff person. Donna has expertise in evaluation, program development, and grant writing from her twenty plus years working in nonprofit organizations. She holds a BA in Psychology, an MS in Health Promotion, and graduate certificates in Museum Studies, Nonprofit Leadership, and Fundraising. In her role at the Over-the-Rhine Museum, she manages museum operations, supervises the walking tour program, and facilitates grant submission, fundraising, and evaluation.

BOARD members

Our board consists of eleven committed and energetic historians, archivists, preservationists, urbanists, educators, developers, business owners, and residents who are working hard to bring this museum to life. They serve two-year terms and are allowed a maximum of six terms. Active committees include: Building, Events & Public Relations, Fundraising, Community Engagement, Board Development, and Oral History.

Anne Delano Steinert,
Board Chair

Anne Delano Steinert, PhD is a historian, preservationist, and educator with twenty-five years’ experience using the built world as a tool for historical understanding. She is a Visiting Assistant Professor of History at the University of Cincinnati. Anne is the founding Board Chair of the Over-the-Rhine Museum. She has curated local exhibits including Look Here! (2015) which mounted fifty historic images on telephone poles throughout Over-the-Rhine, Schools for the City: Cincinnati’s Public School Architecture from 1832 to World War II (2016), and the award-winning Finding Kenyon-Barr: Exploring Photographs of Cincinnati’s Lost Lower West End (2017-2018). Anne holds a BA in historic preservation from Goucher College, an MS in historic preservation from Columbia University, and an MA and PhD in urban American history from the University of Cincinnati.

Daniella Beltran, Vice Chair, Events & PR Committee Chair

Daniella is an urban designer working with YARD & Company. Her background includes a degree in architecture and work in community planning and development. As a graduate student at UC DAAP she developed a thesis on the Commercial Evolution of Over-the-Rhine, studying ground-floor changes between 1930 and 2017. Having learned the history of the neighborhood through books and research, she now enjoys being a part of it as a resident who is eager to help collect and share its stories. Daniella serves the board as Vice Chair, heads the Events and Public Relations Committee, and is a member of the Community Engagement Committee.

Destiny Moore, Secretary

Destiny Moore is the Human Resources Manager for Zillow’s customer fulfillment engineering organization. She has more than twenty years of experience as a trusted advisor to executive leaders of both private and public organizations. She grew up in Cincinnati’s West End and is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s College of Law. She wants to help preserve and publicize the history of Cincinnati's urban neighborhoods. Destiny facilitated the Museum’s Community Engagement Committee to connect long-term Over-the-Rhine residents with our interpretive planning project. 

Joe Vallo, Treasurer

Joe and his wife renovated and live in an 1865 mixed-use building near Findlay Market. They love the people, architecture, history, and heritage of the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. Joe feels a close connection here as his ancestors were part of the early German immigration. Joe also works in Over-the-Rhine with Flywheel Social Enterprise Hub. He is a business consultant with many years of senior management experience. He focuses on assisting entrepreneurial ventures to clarify their strategic vision, increase their social impact, and improve their financial sustainability.

Carissa Barnard

Carissa has been embedded in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood for more than a decade. She is an Over-the-Rhine resident with an appreciation of the unique architecture of the neighborhood, recognizing that the community is as diverse in its residents as its buildings. Carissa believes that Over-the-Rhine stands as a unique example of historic architecture and human history–for not only Cincinnati, but also for the region and the nation–and the preservation and presentation of those stories is imperative. Carissa brings non-profit art and museum experience to the Over-the-Rhine Museum board. She serves as Board Secretary and Chair of the Board Development and Training Committee.

Jarrod M. Mohler, Esq.

Board member Jarrod Mohler is an attorney and a resident of Cincinnati’s Clifton neighborhood, where he and his wife are stewards to a 125 year-old Victorian. Jarrod came to Cincinnati for law school, fell in love with the abundance of historic architecture and fantastic people, and now thinks of it as home.

Teresa O'Farrell

Teresa is a native of Cincinnati and a resident of Over-the-Rhine. She also works in the neighborhood with real estate developer, The Model Group as Director of Development Accounting. In her role at Model, Teresa manages the accounting for projects in predevelopment and through construction. Her expertise includes financing structures which include LIHTC, NMTC & Historic tax credits. Teresa holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Xavier University and a master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati. Her interests include outdoor adventures, running & enjoying the rich fine arts, & entertainment in Cincinnati.

Kimberly Starbuck

Kimberly lives in the Findlay Market community of Over-the-Rhine. A photographer with a passion for historic architecture and market communities, she has been engaged with historic preservation, property restoration and community development for 30 years. She believes Over-the-Rhine to be a unique place that holds the important stories of immigration and integration in our nation. Kimberly is committed to the success of the Over-the-Rhine Museum to share the stories of this historic community and educate the future. She serves the board as a member of the Building Committee.

Michael Stehlin

Michael is an architect specializing in historic restoration and is also the Chief Building Official of Hamilton County. A resident of Over-the-Rhine since 1989, he raised his family here and also helped save many historic buildings. Michael serves the board as Building Committee Chair.

Otis Stevens

Otis is a self-proclaimed Neighborhood Troublemaker. Otis has been a resident of Over-the-Rhine for over 44 years. He works in building stabilization, helping various Over-the-Rhine landlords and organizations. His work includes many anchor renovation projects including the Emery Center Apartments, Kroger parking garage, Red's Stadium, and 3CDC's corporate offices. He has long been engaged in the community, having a talent for meeting people and listening to their stories. Otis believes in creating opportunities by hiring and training people then encouraging them to create their own businesses. As a board member, he serves on the Building Committee and also sees his role as a gatekeeper for the community; bringing to light and adding clarity to hidden or not widely known facts and stories.

Jae Washington

Jae Washington began living in Over-the-Rhine in 1986, moved away for seven years, and returned to Over-the-Rhine in 2022. Jae served on the Museum board during its early years and has returned now that she is back in Cincinnati. Jae is a coach, collaborator, and consultant who understands a community's influence and impact on today's global market. While working as a Global Community Senior Manager for Headspace, she also runs a management consulting firm, Birdie in the Hand, to help organizations create more mindful corporate cultures.

Robert Gioielli,
Board Chair 2021-2023

Rob Gioielli is a historian and college professor previously with the University of Cincinnati and currently at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. His research, writing, and teaching focus on the history of urban environments, based on his belief that cities are the key to a just, equitable, and sustainable future. He is passionate about strip mall restaurants and public transportation. Rob participated on the board from 2016-2023.
